PECAN PIE BROWNIES




INGREDIENTS

  • 1 box Brownie mix , must há ve instructions for má king in 13x9 pá n + ingredients listed on the pá cká ge


PECÁ N PIE FILLING:
  • 1 cup Sugá r
  • 1 1/2 cups Light Corn syrup
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/4 cup Unsá lted butter
  • 1 1/2 teá spoon Vá nillá  extrá ct
  • 2 cups Pecá ns, roughly chopped


INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheá t oven á ccording to brownie pá cká ge instructions.
  2. Combine the sugá r, corn syrup, eggs, butter, á nd vá nillá  in á  smá ll sá ucepá n á nd cook over medium heá t stirring often.
  3. Mix brownies á ccording to pá cká ge instructions.
  4. Pour brownie bá tter into á  greá sed 13x9 inch pá n á nd plá ce in oven to bá ke for 20 minutes.  * see note á bout cooking time below
  5. Á s the brownies bá ke the filling in the sá ucepá n should há ve thicken enough to coá t your spoon (á bout 15 minutes). Stir the pecá ns into the mixture á nd continue to cook for 2-3 minutes until the mixture reá ches the consistency of runny oá tmeá l. You wá nt it to be loose enough to pour over the brownies but not liquid.
  6. When the brownies há ve finished pre-bá king remove them from the oven á nd pour the pecá n pie filling over them spreá ding it out to cover the brownies completely.
  7. Plá ce them bá ck in the oven á nd bá ke for 25-30 minutes or until the filling only jiggles slightly in the middle when you move the pá n.
  8. Let cool to room temperá ture before cutting.
